Tearful Vienna Calls Jake a Lying ‘Fame Whore’

From the rose to the thorns: the Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi split is getting even nastier.

The former Bachelor duo, who had avoided contact since theirbreakup, reunited for the cameras in an interview with host Chris Harrison set to air July 5 on ABC.

It did not go well.

“Vienna calls Jake ‘a liar’ and ‘a fame whore’,” an ABC press release says. “Jake feels Vienna always undermines him and tears him down. They face off about who broke up with whom. Vienna defends herself against allegations of infidelity.”

After what ABC calls an “intense verbal confrontation,” Vienna “bursts into tears and storms out, ending the interview.”

Source: Jake Pavelka Did Not Threaten Vienna

The split between Bachelor-turned Dancing With the Starscontestant Jake Pavelka, and his fiancé Vienna Girardi seems to be gaining momentum in the rumor mill department.

The latest allegation is that following a June 23 ‘closure interview’ with Bachelor host Chris Harrison, Girardi has gone into hiding, fearful for her safety.

A source close to Pavelka tells PEOPLE, “That’s bull. Jake did not threaten her. Anyone that knows Jake – including Vienna – knows that physically threatening someone is not in his character.”

DWTS and Diva Costars Say Jake and Vienna’s Split Was No Surprise

While the announcement of Jake Pavelka‘s split from fiancée Vienna Girardi came as a surprise to those who have worked closest to Pavelka in the past few weeks, the break-up itself wasn’t a shock.
Drop Dead Diva actress Kate Levering, with whom Pavelka shot scenes on June 18 for his upcoming guest appearance on the Lifetime series, tells PEOPLE, “I asked him if they were still together and he said that they were really happy and living in L.A., that they weren’t talking about marriage yet but they were together. I’m sure, probably, that they were obviously on the outs, but he didn’t mention anything. He was very classy about it.”
And although she hasn’t spoken to the pair recently, Chelsie Hightower, Pavelka’s professional partner on Dancing With the Stars, says, “I’m not necessarily surprised that they broke up. I think it would be hard to get to know anybody on a reality TV show, to get to know who they really were, with the pressure of the cameras and the other contestants and all the other factors that add into it.”
Nonetheless, “I wish both of them really well,” Hightower says. “I’ve gotten to know both of them and I think they are both good people and hope that they find better matches for themselves. They have to find people who inspire them to be better than they already are.”

Jake Pavelka: Why I broke up with Vienna Girardi by phone

Breaking up is hard to do — especially from 2,100 miles away.

Still, “The Bachelor’s” Jake Pavelka, says he had no choice but to end things long-distance with fiancée Vienna Girardi. The reason? He was struggling to get into character for his role on Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva,” which he was filming in Atlanta while Vienna remained in Los Angeles.

“One of the keys to acting is you have to get out of your head,” Pavelka, 32, tells PEOPLE. “This [show] didn’t hire me to be Jake, they hired me to play Toby Davlin. I can’t be Jake and sell this character.”

Troubled by what he termed “trust issues” with Vienna, 24, Jake says he broke up with her in a phone call Monday night.

“I’ve been trying to put all that aside so that I can give this character justice,” he says. “It’s been a struggle thinking about my relationship and going in front of the camera and shooting.”

He also acknowledges, “It was a difficult conversation on the phone. But the relationship was headed in that direction.”

Jake & Vienna’s split: He said, she said

For two people who said they’d appreciate privacy after their breakup, neither of them have been very private.

Both Jake Pavelka, 32, and Vienna Girardi, 24, are on nearly every celebrity weekly magazine cover, supposedly spilling details about where it all went wrong.

But it seems, just like with most break-ups, there isn’t a lot of consensus on why it ended, and each weekly is telling a slightly different story. Read on for who said what in which weekly.

Ok!: “Vienna & Jake: It’s over!”

First, there’s the story that Vienna cheated with some guy from “Greek” while Jake was working, but Vienna told Ok! – through a source close to her – that she didn’t do it.

“Greek” actor Gregory Michael told Ok! he had no idea who Vienna was until later, but added that yes, he’d like to hook up with her again.

Us Weekly: “Bachelor Backstabber: Vienna cheated!”

Then, there’s the story that Vienna not only cheated, but broke up with Jake over the phone, according to Us Weekly. (At least she didn’t text? Or worse – leave a PostIt note!)

Jake said he was “shocked” when Vienna did her “it’s not you, it’s me” speech via phone, since he had no idea she was enjoying the company of the “Greek” actor, Gregory Michael.

Gregory Michael told Us that they made out over the weekend, and she was clear she wasn’t with the “Bachelor” guy.

Vienna had no comment.

Life & Style: “Vienna caught with another man!”

Once again, Vienna is the one who reportedly was unfaithful, but this time, not with the “Greek” guy: Life & Style reports that Vienna actually still had feelings for her ex-boyfriend, Lee Smith. Vienna’s stepmother denies the cheating allegations, saying the only proof Jake has is an “innocent” photo of Vienna at an event, and he just wants to play the victim role.

Vienna, Jake and the guy from “Greek” had nothing to say in this one.

Star: “‘Jake’s a Monster!’”

In Star, Vienna provides an “exclusive tell-all” interview saying they hadn’t been intimate in months and that Jake was “cruel” to her puppy. She claims Jake made light of her Pomchi’s dire health conditions, which were brought on when Vienna sent the dog to her parents house because Jake complained it was too noisy and shed too much.
